Singer Marc Anthony is reportedly desperate to get back together with his estranged wife Jennifer Lopez.

The On The Floor hitmaker, Lopez recently announced her split from third husband Anthony, father of her three-year-old twins, Max and Emme.

But the 42-year-old Puerto Rican musician is determined to get her back and is planning to draw out their divorce as long as possible in order to make her change her mind, reported Us magazine.

"His mood shifts from blaming her to begging her to take him back to telling her she is destroying his life. He's being difficult on every little point. He wants to prolong things so she reconsiders," a source said.

However the 'American Idol' judge has no plans to reconcile with Anthony, according to a pal who said: "She is very happy. She is surrounded by love."

The American Idol judge took to the high seas in Miami yesterday as she celebrated her 42nd birthday with friends and family aboard the 122-foot Oceanfast super yacht Never Say Never.

Lopez is holidaying with an entourage of 16 which includes her mother Guadalupe, sister, stylist and manager Benny Medina.

Lopez and Anthony announced the end of their seven year marriage on July 12.

'They decided it's best to go their separate ways for the sake of their two kids.'

Lopez and Anthony began their relationship just three weeks after her very high profile engagement to Ben Affleck was called off in January 2004.

The couple, who announced the end of their marriage on Jul 15, were facing trouble in their marriage for years, according to sources, reported US magazine.

"She (Lopez) tried everything she could to make it work. They went to marriage counseling. She was patient and loving and did everything he wanted her to... She exhausted all the possibilities. They had a very up and down marriage. They would get into heated, horrible fights. Then, they would also go through times where they were extremely loving and romantic... It was a roller coaster with them from the beginning," a source said.

The couple are parents to 3-year-old twins Max and Emme and according to sources Lopez is likely to have the custody of the kids.

"She is devastated! Absolutely beside herself. This is someone she dedicated a long time to, and that she truly loved. She is looking forward to the future. She is jumping back into work and being a mom with all her energy and she is really excited. She feels like she has grown leaps and bounds and is a new person now, better than ever!," a source said.

Singer-actress Jennifer Lopez will break up with her husband Marc Anthony after seven years of marriage.

The superstar couple, in a joint statement to People magazine, said, "We have decided to end our marriage. This was a very difficult decision. We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters."

"It is a painful time for all involved and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time."

Lopez, 41, and Anthony, 42, were married in a June 2004 ceremony and they have 3-year-old twins, Max and Emme.

It is Lopez's third and Anthony's second marriage that has come to an end.
