Selena Gomez Going to Host the 2011 MTV VMA Pre-Show
On Friday, The MTV network announced that Selena Gomez is set to host the MTV Video Music Awards pre-show on August 28.

According to the press release, The 18-year-old actress will be "reporting breaking news and interviewing her peers alongside MTV News correspondents Sway, Jim Cantiello and James Montgomery,"
The Awards show is slated to have performances by Lady Gaga, Lil Wayne and Adele and Other. The band Cobra Starship is scheduled to perform during the pre-show, which will also include an exclusive teaser from "Jersey Shore."
Fans can give their valuable vote throuh online in general Video Music Award categories like Video of the Year, but are except from voting in the professional categories like Best Art Direction.

Selena Gomez has finally lost patience with Justin Bieber. Selena Gomez has long had reservations about the company that Bieber keeps, disapproving of his friends Sean Kingston and Chris Brown. The Metro reported that a friend of Bieber's told the Daily Star Sunday: "The big headline-grabbing romance is over.
All Selena wants to be now is friends.She doesn't feel Justin is quite mature enough yet to be in a long-term, stable relationship. She's in the market for someone a little older and more worldly-wise."
Apparently Gomez has been seen flirting with Shia Lebeouf, who at 25 fits her age criteria. It is also rumoured that her split from Bieber was speeded up because she had found out he was texting ex-girlfriend JASMINE VILLEGAS. In other news, Gomez has been confirmed as the host for the MTV Video Music Awards pre-show, and will perform at the event scheduled for 28th August.
She said in a statement: "I am very excited to be a part of the 2011 VMAs! After all of my years watching the VMAs, the pre-show has always been one of my favorite parts. It is a true honor to be hosting from the black carpet this year."

Bieber denies accusations
Teen idol Justin Bieber has slammed accusations that he "acted like a brat" on an American Airlines flight.
The 17-year-old singer faced allegations that he behaved badly on a flight from Los Angeles to Asia and even refused to take his seat when the aircraft was preparing to take off, reported MTV online.
"He then gave the staff a really hard time the whole flight, nobody could believe it.
"And then at the end, the captain introduced himself to Justin and kindly asked for an autograph, and he rudely refused," said a source.
But the Baby hitmaker has denied all the allegations and said, "I have no clue. I have never heard that rumour. I don't think you should believe everything you hear. People make up stuff all the time."
The teen sensation has previously been accused of misbehaving on a flight from Sydney to Melbourne in May, where an air-hostess said he was "acting like a child."

A-list stars like Lady GaGa, Justin Bieber, Eminem and Madonna have joined hands to support Save the Children's "I'm Gonna Be Your Friend" campaign.
Using their social media power, they aim to raise funds and awareness for the drought, medicine and food crisis in East Africa.
The campaign is kicked off on Tuesday, August 9 with the celebrities taking to their Twitter or Facebook pages to raise awareness. Britney Spears was among the early ones, tweeting
"Just got @BobMarley's "High Tide or Low Tide" - proceeds go to children in #EastAfrica. U all can help #beafriend -Brit".
Bob Marley's tune was personally chosen by his family to accompany a Kevin Macdonald-directed short movie about the appalling condition in Africa. The singer's widow Rita said,
"Not one child should be denied food nor water. Not one child should suffer. Along with Save the Children, we must stand up together as friends to put a stop to this, to feed our children and to save their lives."
The video would be sold digitally with all proceeds going to Save the Children. The celebrities will continue raising the awareness until they have an audience of 700 million.

Justin Bieber must stop hanging around with hip hop stars if he is to salvage his relationship with Selena Gomez, reports are suggesting.
Justin Bieber's new pals are singer Sean Kingston, a former child burglar, Chris Brown, who beat ex-partner Rihanna, and Lil Wayne, who has been charged with gun-related crimes in the past. Neither Gomez nor Bieber have confirmed the split, but a source told The Sun that things came to a head when Bieber tried to bring Kingston to one of her shows: "Selena told him to stop hanging with these bad people. Selena Gomez to take up acting career
Nineteen-year-old American actress-singer Selena Gomez, who is now focussing on a music career, has launched her new album and says that in the long run she would take acting as a full-fledged career."It's been two-and-a-half to three years that I have been acting and singing. However, I feel most likely in terms of a longer career span, it would be acting," Gomez told IANS in an email interview from Texas.
She began her acting career at the age of seven, with I--Barney & Friends and recently featured in movies like Ramona and Beezus and Monte Carlo.
Best known for portraying Alex Russo in the Emmy Award-winning Disney Channel television series Wizards of Waverly Place, Gomez is the lead singer and founder of the pop band Selena Gomez & the Scene, which has released Kiss & Tell and A Year Without Rain.
Talking about her new album When The Sun Goes Down, Selena said that "the music in the album is kind of a way to express that it's really fun. Who Says is a powerful song and I love that my fans can have that to listen to. There are songs like My Dilemma, Bang Bang Bang, and Love You Like A Love Song.
When quizzed about her much-publicized relationship with teen pop icon Justin Bieber, Selena said: "I'd say it's nice to have someone who knows what you're going through."
From Akon to Bryan Adams, several international artists have been coming to India to perform and now Gomez is also keen to do so. She says she would also love to work with Indian artistes.
"I don't know a lot about India. I know many artists are performing there and I would like to visit India, may be some time in future as and when the opportunity comes my way. I would also like to collaborate with some Indian artistes at a later stage," said the singer.

Singer-actress Selena Gomez has given up surfing the internet after receiving nasty online comments from fans jealous of her romance with singer Justin Bieber.Gomez, 18, and Bieber, 17, went public with their relationship this year. "It's weird, it's just weird, but I don't pay attention to it, I just try to live my life as normal as possible. Phenomenal singer, Justin Bieber reveals that he is now working on the next album. Baby 'singer is planning to re-enter the recording studio.
Selena Gomez lover wants to be more serious in the cultivation of his new album. If the previous album he invited a lot of collaborations with various singers, this time Justin would like to work alone.
"I work with my own ability," he said as quoted by MTV News.
More Justin explained if he had written many songs during a tour of what he felt. He hopes this can be a great album like the previous album.

Attacked by a Mysterious Man, Justin Bieber Injured
This time the Beliebers be really angry to hear that Justin Bieber injured after a man attacked him. When Bieber was busy distributing his signature, this guy broke through barricades and tried to drop the star.
At that time, Bieber was promoting hisnew perfume, Someday, and gave his signature to the fans outside a supermarket. Unexpectedly, a man suddenly attacked and attacked Bieber until the young singer dropped. Seeing this incident, Bieber's personal security team immediately dropped the act and the man who predicted this 40-year-old, who immediately handed over to the authorities.
An eyewitness said, "When he was grabbed, clutched the man's bodyguard. Bieber immediately and looked shaken up while holding his arm." In the supermarket, Bieber seen comforted by his father, a bodyguard and manager.
The motive of this attack had escaped, when this man is thought to be a fan of the craze. However, TMZ claimed that the actual men who attacked Bieber is an undercover cop. Misunderstanding between the police and bodyguards happened, after a crowd of fans outside the supermarket was started uncontrollably. As reported by the media, the undercover cop who is intending to secure Bieber of the uncontrolled rush of fans.
For the attack unexpected result of this misunderstanding, Bieber was reported injured, though not seriously. Once the problem straightened out, Bieber was again handing out his autograph at the supermarket.
