"Final Destination 5" new movie trailer
I didn’t think it was possible, but apparently one can squeeze blood from a turnip. The vegetable in this case is the Final Destination series. The blood, well, that is Final Destination 5, the fifth movie in this one-note franchise sure to once again raise the heartbeat of moviegoers keen on watching the young and hot die gruesome deaths.
And let me assure, there is no shortage of that. Starting this time — not on a bus or an airplane or at a race track or amusement park, but on a suspension bridge — the deaths come quickly. But not, however, to the “Lucky 8,” as they become affectionately known as. Molly (Emma Bell), Peter (Miles Fisher), Dennis (David Koechner), Candice (Ellen Wroe), Olivia (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), Isaac (P.J. Byrne) and Nathan (Arlen Escarpeta) all make it off of the bridge intact thanks to the premonition of their friend and coworker Sam (Nicholas D’Agosto). Their luck is short-lived, as, in the order that they should have died, Death comes to reclaim them. One by one, in clever and ever devious ways (the trailers give several of them away — acupuncture mishap, gymnastics accident, LASIK overload — so I won’t spoil the additional surprises), the Grim Reaper takes what he(?) was robbed of.
Yes, Final Destination 5 sounds like a carbon copy of its predecessors but truth be told writer Eric Heisserer perks up the formulaic plot with a minor twist and an unexpected ending. With the help of mortician (Tony Todd, better known for being The Candyman in Candyman), the remaining survivors learn of a way to possibly get their names off of the hit list. This revelation isn’t anything not seen before in more interesting movies, but it is enough of a wrinkle to show some thought went into this installment (other than the new ways to have someone killed).
It would have been nice had Heisserer developed some characters that one could or would want to identify with. What is offered up is standard horror fare — good looking guy, hot chick, jerk-off, dumbass, etc. — and for the most part they’re all played with limited to no enthusiasm. I’m not sure whether director Steven Quale could have gotten more from his mostly unknown acting troupe and I’m not so certain he even tried. Quale, who doesn’t have a long glorified list of movies he’s helmed, gets a few good shots here and there but he mostly lets the movie plod along after the big staged bridge failure going from one accident to the next.
While Final Destination 5 is one of the better chapters in this 11 year old series (infinitely better than The Final Destination), there’s no escaping the fact you’ve seen it all before. Between this and the Saw series, I hope every wicked avenue for a person to be maimed and killed has been explored. Yet, I can’t help but feel future additions to these franchises will follow to prove me wrong. Ho hum.

On Set Of "Hunger Games" Starring Jennifer Lawrence, Woody Harrelson, Lenny Kravitz & More
Another "end of the world" survival movie....think someone's trying to give us a sign?!
We told about this movie a while back because it stars Hollywood's newest "it girl" Jennifer Lawrence, from X-men: First Class.

Inspired by the best-selling young-adult novel by author Suzanne Collins, "The Hunger Games" tells the dark tale of a 16-year-old girl named Katniss Everdeen, who is selected to compete in a vicious televised tournament in which 24 teenagers from a post-apocalyptic society are selected to fight to the death for the entertainment of the masses.
The movie features an all-star cast including Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Donald Sutherland and Lenny Kravitz.
Gary Ross directs the film, which hits theaters March 23, 2012. Steven Soderbergh recently signed on as the second unit director.

In the not-too-distant future, scientists have discovered a way to turn off the aging gene. As the threat of overpopulation looms over society, money becomes a thing of the past. Now, assets are measured in time; those with the most time also possess the most power.
Meanwhile, the lower classes are forced to barter with the new elite if they want to live forever. Suddenly a young commoner stumbles across a treasure chest of time. With the Time Keepers in hot pursuit, however, he may never get a chance to use it.

Lady Gaga To Play Amy Winehouse In Biopic?
Already?
Amy has been dead for only about a little over a week now and supposedly there is already talks of a biopic and Lady Gaga would be the star!
This is just a rumor as of now but according to sources Lady Gaga is in secret talks to play Amy Winehouse in a film. An insider says,
"Lady GaGa worshipped Amy and would love nothing more than to transform herself into her idol on the big screen. She'd be spot on performing Amy's songs and has got the right look and bolshy attitude. GaGa's been itching to make the transition from music into movies and sees this as the ideal role to launch her film career."
Reports say that after Monster Ball's two-year run, Lady Gaga has been flooded with film scripts and is waiting for the right part to come along. So is this THE ONE?
Gaga's management team had been discussing possible film ventures before Winehouse died,
"but there's only ever been one role she wants and that's to play Amy."After Winehouse died, Lady Gaga told Access Hollywood,
"I always felt kind of like an outsider -- in pop music, and just from high school and I remember [collaborator Lady Starlight] looked over at me and said, 'If she can do it, you can do it ...' I always felt like Amy had opened a door for girls like me who didn't fit that exact real pop mold and [who were] real wholesome.
Lady Gaga and Winehouse never met, but Gaga said,
"[Winehouse] was really special, and she's gonna be greatly missed."

Kung Fu Panda 2 Angelina Jolie

In addition to not demand too much, Jolie could also invite the children to the studio. "This isis the most relaxing job in the world .I can bring my children .I could work wearing pajamas ,"said Jolie is the voice of Kung Fu Panda 2 ,as quoted from Splash News .
But of course it does not mean that Angelina Jolie did not work. Animated movie Kung Fu Panda 2 have their own difficulty level to the filler voice.
"The most challenging is that we are not together with other actors and should go back each other respond,"said Jolie. In this case, Jolie is quite safe because they know exactly the team that handles the project is not a new person in the world of film animation.
What is clear, during the filling process voice, Angelina Jolie can relax while snacking. "Eventually we even order pizza and eat with the kids, snack, fun," she added.

"Total Recall" Remake: Look Who's Battling Over The Lead Role

Word has it, actress Kate Beckinsale is fighting fellow actress......... Jessica Biel, for the leading lady role in her husband Len Wiseman's "Total Recall" remake.
Whoever ends up with the role will be working along side Colin Farrell, Bryan Cranston and Ethan Hawke in the futuristic film.
Irishman Farrell will star in the film, taking over the Douglas Quaid role Arnold Schwarzenegger played in the 1990 film.
If Beckinsale lands a lead in the remake, it won't be the first time she has been directed by her husband - she teamed up with Wiseman for the first two Underworld movies.
Last month it was reported that Beckinsale was offered the lead role.
If she doesn't get the role, hubby's probably going to hear it!
The film is expected to hit theaters next year.
