Ranbir and Deepika to rekindle their chemistry

There is no looking back for Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor. Once lovers, who fell out of love in a bitter way, they are now trying to rekindle their lost chemistry. The two stars are meeting up regularly at director Ayan Mukherjee’s house. Hmm…what’s cooking?



Well, a film is in the making. The Wake Up Sid director Ayan Mukherjee has signed Deepika and Ranbir to play a couple in his untitled film, and as per sources, Ayan wants a great chemistry between the two. So, he is conducting ‘personal meetings’ at his house to ensure that Deepika and Ranbir are completely comfortable with each other before they start shooting for the film.



And the ex-lovers didn’t hesitate to do so. “They have now realized that a lot of the negativity was engineered and that none of them had a role to play in it. Both are now determined to be good friends which initially was the case before they started dating,” as a source is quoted as saying by a tabloid.



Ayan Mukherjee has made sure that his movie’s stars bond well and can leave behind the past, because if they still hold grudge against each other and fail to relight their chemistry, it would be hard to portray them as lovers on big screen.



Earlier the film was supposed to have Katrina Kaif opposite Ranbir Kapoor. But the matters took an unexpected turn and the untitled film fell in Deepika Padukone’s lap, and she was more than happy to do it.

When Katrina Kaif failed to blow whistles for a sequence in her item song in Bodyguard, guess who came to her aid? Her former beau Salman Khan!

Katrina, who features in the second half of the song Aaya re aaya bodyguard, was uncomfortable when she was asked to blow six whistles in the song. She couldn't whistle at all!

But Salman helped her out, tells a source from the sets.

In fact, it was Salman, who blew the whistle for Katrina in the song. The two continue to share a warm relationship despite parting from each other.

Bodyguard, which features Kareena Kapoor as the leading lady, releases Aug 31.

Ek Tha Tiger : First Look

The Yash Raj Film starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starts shooting today.

In yet another first, Yash Raj Films releases the first look of the Salman Khan & Katrina Kaif starrer, Ek Tha Tiger, in an exclusive first of its kind online digital poster.

Directed by Kabir Khan and Produced by Aditya Chopra, this romantic thriller starts shooting today for its first schedule.

The film is based on a story by Aditya Chopra and the Screenplay & Dialogues have been written by Kabir Khan and Neelesh Misra.

It's the reunion we've been waiting for!

Salman and Katrina will be finally seen acting opposite each other in Kabir Khan's next project, Ek Tha Tiger.

The film releases on 1st June 2012 in theatres worldwide.

Karan Johar snubbed by Kat ?

In 2010, Katrina Kaif walked to Karan Johar's house asking for a Dharma Production. She wanted to be the girl in the Dostana sequel. Karan was obviously flattered.



Unfortuantely for Kat, Tarun Mansukhani the director of Dostana has been stuck without a second half for the Dostana sequel. So, the film has been long delayed in the making.



When Kat heard Ayan Mukerjee was casting a leading lady opposite her estranged boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor for a Dharma Production, she once again sent out feelers seeking the role.



A trade source says, "Since Kat is the numero uno Bollywood girl today Karan and co were reportedly flattered with her interest in the project".



However when it came to the crux, Kat happily chose Aditya Chopra over his best friend Karan Johar. Since she had a choice between allotting dates in the month of November 2011 to the Shah Rukh-Yash Chopra project or the Ranbir Kapoor-Ayan Mukerjee project, she chose SRK and Yashraj over Ranbir and Dharma.



A source says, "Kat has clearly played favourites and this has reportedly not gone down well with some at Dharma".



However Karan Johar maintains a good equation with Katrina on the face of it. So naturally no one is willing to say anything on record.

Kareena wants a hotter item song

Katrina Kaif might be the reigning item queen of Bollywood, but Kareeena Kapoor's not the one to feel cornered in her own film. Apparently when Kareena got to know about this much hyped song shoot with Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, she stepped up and demanded a hotter number.

A source says, "When both Kareena and Katrina's songs will be released, there is definitely going to be comparison between the two. So Kareena wants to be prepared. The song Teri meri prem kahani that has been shot over the past few days in three different locations is one of the sexiest songs Kareena has ever shot and she wanted it to be that way."

The song is quintessentially Bollywood as it gets the heroine dancing under the rain in a translucent sari. Interestingly, Teri Meri Prem Kahani is the theme track of the film. And though it's hardly an item number, there are portions of the song, which have now been designed to look like one.

This is the first time Kat and Bebo's professional rivalry is out in the open, though the two A-listers have always been pitted against each other in some way or the other.

According to a source, "Apparently Salman's decision to rope in Katrina for a song in Bodyguard did not go down well with Kareena from the very beginning. "

Both Kareena and Katrina denied the story.

Ali Zafar missing from "Mere Brother ki Dulhan" promos

He may have tried to 'enlighten' the world with the whereabouts of Osama Bin laden in his first film, but musician and actor Ali Zafar's next is nothing like hit debut.

If Tere Bin Laden was offbeat cinema at its best, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan promises to be conventional, perhaps explaining why Ali seems a little unsure of 'fitting in'.

But with A-list co-stars like Katrina Kaif and Imran Khan, the actor and musician seems okay with playing second fiddle.

"I am a realistic person. I am just one film old whereas both Imran and Katrina are really big stars. I can't expect to receive as much attention as them, and frankly it's not even what I am looking for," said Ali. However, he doesn't deny that the promos that have been released do not give him as much space. He adds, "They have released a song with Imran and Katrina. I guess they have their own strategies to publicise the film." Interestingly, Ali has watched all the films of both stars. "I wanted to see the kind of work they have done," he says.

With the kind of appreciation that has come his way since his debut, Ali is more than confident that the length of the character is just subjective, and not a deterrent to his work as an actor.

"Acting is not the only thing in my life. Fame and stardom is secondary for me. I work to earn respect, be it as an actor or as a musician."

However, the one place he may not feel 'out of place' is on stage. "We are doing a series of concerts where Imran and Katrina will be jamming with me. That, I think, would be very exciting," he sums up.

Katrina and Ranbir - loggerheads again

Something went seriously wrong between once 'good friends' Ranbir kapoor and Katrina Kaif, so much so that the lady declined to do Ayan Mukherjee's next with the Kapoor lad.

Deepika Padukone, who seems to have moved on after her torrid affair with RK, has decided to fill in Kat's shoes!

However, Katrina isn't lagging behind in her career graph, and is all set to prove that 'If Ranbir Kapoor is a 'Rockstar' (the title of his forthcoming film), then I'm rocking, too!' Kat takes on a rockstar avatar in her soon-to-be-released movie 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan' and even performs to a rock number!

However quiz her about her and Ranbir's 'Rockstar' co-incidence and she is quick to voice that she isn't out to prove anything to anybody and that her rockstar act was just a part of the script. Katrina is being much applauded in her 'Rockstar' number titled 'Dhunki'. Rendered by Sunidhi Chauhan with Sohai Sen as music director, this may just prove to be another Sheila Ki Jawani for the actress.

Kat's role to be taken over..

Ayaan Mukerji's next has a been a talk of the town ever since it was announced that ex-flames Katrina and Ranbir will be coming together for the film, but it now looks like Deepika is most likely to take over the former actress’ position in this most coveted project.

The latest buzz is that Katrina may back out of the film since her dates are fully packed for this year and she had no dates to accomodate this film.

Katrina, who had initially given much thought to Ayan’s film, is finding it difficult to do the project and is working on every possibility for the dates. Meanwhile, a source has revealed that if Katrina walks out of the project then Dharma productions may rope in Deepika for the project.

Rumors have it that the makers have already decided that Ranbir’s arm candy in the flick is going to be Deepika. And, it’s learnt that even Ranbir has already made up his mind to act with his ex-girlfriend.

Katrina, who is basking in the success of her last outing ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’, is getting ready to shoot for ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ with her ex, Salman and has no problems working even with Ranbir.

Speaking about Katrina, a source said “At the moment, Katrina is trying to adjust her dates for Ayaan. However with back-to-back projects like Ek Tha Tiger with Salman Khan and Yash Chopra's directorial venture opposite Shah Rukh Khan, the possibility of the actress being able to give dates to Ayaan seems remote.

"Katrina's diary for the next one and a half year is full,” concluded the source.

In 'Tees Maar Khan', Katrina set the stage on fire with her sizzling item number "Sheila Ki Jawani" and now Yash Raj Films has turned the hot British beauty into a dashing rockstar.

In Dhunki, Katrina features as a Delhi University student, who holds a concert in a fort without a legal permission. Strumming stylishly on her electric guitar... Katrina is surely gonna rock with her "Dhunki"flavour.

"As soon as the fans heard that Katrina was shooting for Dhunki at Agra Fort, a crowd of 1000 plus gathered within a few minutes! All the crowd and mob shots shown in the song are authentic - the only way Katrina could safely leave the venue at the end of the shoot was when a team of police was called to escort her out and take her away in a police van," revealed the sources talking about the shooting experience of the song.

The shooting of Dhunki was one real hectic schedule for the team while it was a fabulous treat for public that one can literally see it in the song.

Rakhi wants to marry Ramdev...!!!

Rakhi Sawant was at her motormouth best in Delhi. And some brave guy apparently stole her sari!

Meri sari chori ho gayi. Aap hi batao main kya karti?" That's what Rakhi Sawant asked the press at the launch of her upcoming reality show, " Gajab Desh Ki Ajab Kahaaniyaan".

The event was slated to start at 3pm on Tuesday in Delhi, but got delayed by two hours. Only when a few mediapersons walked out that the event started. "Main bahut maafi chahti hoon ki thoda late ho gayi," Rakhi said, to which the press retorted, "Do ghante ho gaye. Yeh kya thoda late hai?" After a brief pause, Rakhi tried to placate them as she said, "Aap jaan hi lelo meri.

I don't want to cry here, but you won't believe that this press conference got delayed because my sari got stolen. Mere saath yeh tragedy ho gayi. You might think this is a publicity gimmick, but trust me, this is what has happened." On being asked why she couldn't wear something else, she replied, "Aise kaise kuch bhi pehen ke aa jati? Why didn't you send me your shirt?" came her rejoinder. "You won't believe it, I even asked the channel representatives to let me attend the press conference in my gown. I didn't want to keep my friends waiting."

But the press was in no mood to forgive her and continued to ask her a string of weird questions such as "Do you think Abhishek Awasthi got this done?" "Will you be getting an FIR lodged?" to annoy her.

Rakhi also rebuked Delhi designers for charging her about `1.5 lakh for the sari she finally wore, which she said they would have offered to any Bollywood A-lister without charging a single penny. "Just because Rakhi Sawant wanted a sari, they had to charge over a lakh. Isn't this bizarre? I mean, Delhi designers have been blackmailing me. Had Kareena or Katrina been in a similar situation, they would not have had to pay anything," Rakhi retorted.

Sorry to disappointment: Katrina Kaif

At last Katrina has found a female friend within the film industry. For Katrina it’s never been easy bonding with the female co-stars, so much that she shies away from doing 2-heroine films like Anurag Basu’s Barfee recently.

In fact she has said no to several plum assignments in the past because she didn’t want to be pitted against another female actor.

But Kalki Koechlin has been an exception.

Contrary to reports Katrina Kaif and Kalki Koechlin, the two ‘Ks’ studies who have just done a film together Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, have a lot in common and get along like a house on fire.

Kalki, we must remember, stepped into a part originally earmarked for Katrina in Dibakar Bannerjee’s Shanghai. But that didn’t stop them from becoming friends.

Kalki wonders who is spreading these rumours. “On the contrary Katrina and I get along very well. She’s relaxed and level-headed, ” she says.

Katrina is even more vocal in her denial of any stress between the two, “It is considered almost inevitable for two actresses to fight when they’re working together. But those who’re looking for a spicy fight between us are just barking up the wrong tree. Me and Kalki got along very well. Sorry to disappoint some people. But me and Kalki get along just fine,” she added.

As for Katrina cornering all the publicity she observes pragmatically, “This is not a film about one actor. It’s an ensemble cast, like Farhan’s Dil Chahta Hai and Rock On. We’re all equally important. ”

Farhan thanks Javed for his dialogues

Actor-director Farhan Akhtar has thanked his lyricist dad, Javed Akhtar, for writing some impeccable dialogues laced with poetry for the just released Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara in which he plays one of the protagonists.

"It's so fantastic that everyone loves the poems in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. Thank you pa @Javedakhtarjadu for injecting soul into the film with your gifted hand," Farhan wroted on his Twitter page.

Directed by Farhan's sister Zoya Akhtar, the movie released Friday also features actors Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif, Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol and Kalki Koechlin and has received a warm response from the audience.

Filmmaker Karan Johar seems to have liked the film so much that he is asking everyone to watch it.

"Please go watch ZNMD....NOW!!!! Zoya has pulled off a tough genre with utmost sincerity and flamboyance...zoya is the hero of the film!!!,(Sic)" Karan posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.

Secret Wishes

Katrina Kaif, The sensational actress who turned 27 yesterday (16th July, 2011), had not just one but two reasons to party.

While it was her birthday and also the second day of her latest film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara that released on 15th July garnering great reviews.

Though the actress didn't divulge about her celebration plans, she shared some facts talking about the gifts that she wants this year. Kat said, "I am hoping my film does well. That will be the best birthday gift."

Last year, the actress had spent her birthday in Spain while shooting for the film. But the film's success is not all that Kat is wishing for this birthday. Apparently, it's a bike that Katrina desperately wants.

Just recently, Amitabh Bachchan expressed his desire to own a Harley Davidson, which he rode in his film Bbuddah... Hoga Terra Baap and now Kat wants one too.

Incidentally Katrina has driven a bike in her latest flick Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and has ever since wanted to own a bike. She said, "I secretly wish that I was a biker. I loved riding the bike in ZNMD and I wish to get one. I hope my co-stars Hrithik, Abhay and Farhan gift me one," she said with a naughty smile.

Well, we wonder what Kat will do if she gets the bike. For if she rides it on the streets, the traffic infested roads will only get all the more worse!

DON 2 - First Look

I plead guilty of saying that I would not make a Don sequel, but somehow the character just wouldn’t leave me. Now, in retrospect, I’m glad I’ve made Don 2,” admits producer-director Farhan Akhtar, who is gearing up for the response to the first trailer of one of this year’s most eagerly awaited films that unveils in theatres this Friday, along with the Farhan-starrer, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.

Farhan’s partner and co-producer Ritesh Sidhwani endorses the fact that despite an open ending, the duo had not thought of taking the story forward when Don—The Chase Begins (2006) ended. He says, “But then Ameet (Mehta) and Amrish (Shah) came to us with an interesting story idea. It took us a while to develop it, but finally, last October, we flagged off Don 2, and on December 23, as Shah Rukh (Khan) says in the promos, the don will return to the screen after five years.”

Ritesh agrees that expectations are sky high, but is confident that the high-speed action sequences, the special effects and the familiar characters in a new European setting, will spark off an ‘Oh my God, this is huge!’ reaction from the audience,from children in particular, who, he admits, is Don’s biggest fan base. “It surprised me that my own kids had taken such a fancy to a bad guy till I realised that the eternal favourite, Tom & Jerry, is a violent cartoon too.”

The filmmakers adds that apart from two new characters, enacted by Lara Dutta and Kunal Kapoor, the others played by SRK, Priyanka Chopra, Boman Irani and Om Puri, are the same from Part 1 and continue from where they had left. Ritesh says, “So Roma knows that the good Vijay is dead, Don has survived and sets out to even the score,” he says. “That twist at the end of Part 1 was what made it different from Mr Bachchan’s (Amitabh) Don. This one is completely new and original with no reference points but you would have to see Don —The Chase Begins to understand what’s happening. Don is on its way to becoming a franchise now. This time if you were to ask me about a Part 3, I wouldn’t say no.”

From lovers to good friends.. Salman & Kat

Actress Katrina Kaif, who usually remains tight-lipped about her relationship status, told a fan that she is currently enjoying her time with family and that Salman Khan is her good friend.

During a chat with her fans on Airtel's "Talk2Me" platform, when the 26-year-old was quizzed about her relationship, she said: "At the moment I am just with my family and nothing going on like that."

When a fan said that people feel she looks good with Salman Khan, the British-born actress said: "Ya, he is a good friend of mine."

The two were reportedly seeing each other but broke off last year.

The actress is currently busy promoting her upcoming film "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara", also starring Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol, Farhan Akhtar and Kalki Koechlin. The film directed by Zoya Akhtar will hit the screens Friday.

Kalki Koechlin pregnant ?

Close on the heels of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan announcing her pregnancy, another married actress is under the scanner.

While the lean and beautiful Kalki Koechlin is busy promoting her new film, Zoya Akhtar's Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara, her recent absence from a couple of events have sparked off rumors that there's something brewing, after all.

Add to the fact that her husband, director-actor Anurag Kashyap, has clearly stated he would like to expand his family, and the whispers seem legitimate.

There were also unconfirmed reports that Kalki was visibly unwell at a recent event, making tongues wag again. However, a source close to the actress has rubbished those claims, stating that the bubbly actress was just the victim of a monsoon stomach bug.

Sounds like a case of "there's no smoke without fire", but until we hear it straight from the horse's mouth, we'll just wait to offer our best wishes.

Hrithik and Katrina kiss on ZNMD..

Hrithik Roshan has just returned after a grueling month-long schedule of Agneepath in Diu to the news that he is trying to pressurise Zoya Akhtar, director of his forthcoming movie, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, to tone down the sizzling chemistry between Katrina Kaif and him and leave a steamy kiss out on the editing table.

Rubbishing rumours, the star says, “The song revolves around five friends (Katrina, Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol, Kalki and Hrithik) and there are no moments between Katrina and me there. But yes, there’s a kiss and I believe that if you’re going to risk your life and jump off a building, you bloody well should make it look convincing. Unless you are honest during such moments of physical intimacy, you will appear uncomfortable and guilty on screen. When you see the lead pair in an English movie kissing, it’s rarely offensive or ‘a bit much’. That’s because of the conviction in their performance.”

Negating reports of creative differences with Zoya, Hrithik points out that she’s the only director, apart from his dad (Rakesh Roshan), with whom he’s done two movies — Luck By Chance (2009) and ZNMD, and the only female director he’s worked with: “Zoya is an artiste who doesn’t feel the need to conform to a herd mentality. She is always thinking out of the box and trying to figure out how to do things differently.”

Hrithik admits that he’s always wanted to take a road trip but it wasn’t till he piled into a car with ZNMD co-stars that he experienced the heady joy of seeing the world. “

Katrina does not wanna kiss Salman

Katrina Kaif made an exception in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and kissed Hrithik Roshan in a sequence. However, not again!

The actress, like the other two Khans Salman and Shah Rukh Khan has made it clear that she would never kiss on screen, come what say. The clause doesn't waver even for 'good friend' Salman Khan.

When a situation for a kiss arose in Kabir Khan's Ek Tha Tiger both Sallu and Kat said a clear no. Says a source, "Kabir Khan had convinced Katrina for the only kissing scene she has done so far in New York. He was sure she would see how important it was. But with both Salman and Katrina adamant on the no-kiss policy there was no choice but to drop it."

Katrina admits she has broken her no-kiss clause for ZNMD. "Yes, there's a fleeting kiss with Hrithik. It was something that had to be done. But that apart, my stand on kissing remains unchanged," she says.

In fact, the actress is in two minds about buying the rights for the 1998 Drew Barrymore rom-com The Wedding Singer because a long kiss is integral to the plot. "I love that film. But the kiss, No!" Kat says.
