Anne Hathaway lived with cats to prepare for her role ??

Actress Anne Hathaway, who plays Catwoman in the upcoming Batman movie The Dark Knight Rises, considered living with a cat to prepare for the role.

The 28-year-old convinced an assistant director that living alongside a cat would help her to observe the animal's movements and actions.

"I actually had this moment when I convinced one of the assistant directors on the London portion of the film to get a cat with me, the idea being that we were going to get a kitten from a rescue shelter, and he was going to live with me, and I was going to observe it, and when I left London I was going to give it to her," femalefirst.co.uk quoted Hathway as saying.

However, living alongside a kitten wouldn't have worked out well for the actress.

"Then, thankfully, her (the assistant direcctor's) husband pointed out that that was a terrible idea on so many levels, not least of which being that it would probably be really confusing to the cat. So I turned to YouTube instead and got a National Geographic video on cats," she added.

Anne Hathaway nearing 30

Anne Hathaway is one Hollywood star who's wearing her age like a badge of honor.

"I find the passing of time very liberating," says the actress, who turns 29 in November. "I feel more confident every, well not every single day, but most days I feel better than I did the day before, and that's a good thing."

Hathaway hit the red carpet in New York on Monday night, sparkling in a gold and black Alexander McQueen dress, to premiere her latest romantic drama One Day. She said she feels a sense of freedom about approaching 30.

"For every generation where traditional rules don't apply, you don't have to have things figured out by 22 and have four kids by the time you're 30," said Hathaway, who's single but dating and has no children. "We have a lot more time to figure out who we are."

Case in point, Hathaway says: Meryl Streep, the 62-year-old Oscar winner.

"We have pioneers that show us there's no reason to be afraid, and I just think fear (of aging) is something that we perpetuate," Hathaway said. "Who needs it?"

One Day, based on the best-selling novel by David Nicholls, follows the romantic journey of two best friends over 20 years. The film, opening Aug. 19, also stars British actor Jim Sturgess.

With almost a year to go before release, The Dark Knight Rises has had no qualms with amping the hype machine in to high gear and whetting our Batman appetites with teases from the set.

We've already seen the official first image of Batman baddie Bane (Tom Hardy) and a teaser trailer featuring a snippet of actual footage.

Its now the revelation of the first look at Anne Hathaway who plays Selina Kyle in the upcoming Batman film 'The Dark Knight Rises'.

Isn't Selina Kyle actually Catwoman?

Now it's up in the air what exact role Hathaway's Kyle plays in the grand scheme of director Christopher Nolan's Bat-verse.

A romantic interest for Christian Bale's Bruce Wayne? What side is she really on?

The first photo from set won't give you any of those answers, but it will promise Anne Hathaway on a motorcycle, wearing high tech shades looking ready and looking like a total badass babe. We needed Anne Hathaway in this movie—the Batman trilogy was quickly turning into a boy's club.

Catwoman gave a shiner

It looks like Anne Hathaway is taking her role as Catwoman in the new Batman film seriously, after she hit a stuntman in the eye with the butt of a gun, and gave him a whopping shiner and a splitting headache.

Hathaway, 28, was so upset about the injury she bought the man a silver pen to apologise. Engraved on it was: "Remember no one packs a punch like Anne."

"Anne got a bit carried away during a fight scene and mistakenly shoved the butt of the gun right into the actor's eye socket."

"He came away with a massive black eye - Anne was mortified"

"It was all in good humour but the poor guy took quite a pummelling," the source added.

Moments at the Oscars 2011

There were sarcastic winners, witty presenters, disinterested hosts and then even funny actors' relatives seated in the audience!

Fair, unfair, we do not know but the Oscars were entertaining for sure. We list down few moments which grabbed our attention, for good and then sometimes for not good!

Melissa Leo drops the F bomb!
Probably the biggest oops moment of the evening, Melissa has made it to the Oscar history was using the F word on the Oscar stage in her acceptance speech after she won the Best Supporting Actor trophy! She went, "When Kate won two years back, she made it look so f****** easy!"

Christian Bale takes a dig at himself
Christian Bale who won the Best Supporting actor Oscar said, "I won't drop the F bomb like Melissa, I've used that a lot before". He referred to his swearing tapes that were leaked on the internet. Bale had apparently abused a cinematographer working on his film as he had distracted him while Bale was delivering his lines.

Anne calls Hugh Jackman 'Huge Jackass'
Anne Hathaway seemed over-excited while James Franco seemed disinterested! Together the two weren't half as funny as last year's host Hugh Jackman. Anne Hathaway in one of her fillers aped Hugh as she too sung and said, "A certain Huge Jackass had promised me that he'd sing with me!" Hugh took it all sportingly.

Kirk Douglas heightens the anticipation
Kirk Douglas made the lives of actresses nominated in the supporting actor category miserable as before presenting the trophy to Melissa Leo, he kept telling unending stories about himself, everytime starting his story with, 'you know..'!

Russell Brand teases Colin Firth
British comedian, Russell Brand presented the Best Foreign Language film Oscar along with Dame Helen Mirren. When Helen tried to address all in a foreign language, Russell translated it for all by saying, "She means she was better as the queen than Colin Firth was as the King!" Helen called Russell Idiot in return, again in other language to which he reacted, "Thank you but I am married."

Sandra Bullock wants Jesse on her facebook!
Sandra is effortlessly funny. When she introduced the best Actor nominees she asked Jesse Eisenberg as to why hasn't he accepted her Facebook request! She also asked Jeff Bridges, "how much is enough" taunting him on his consecutive nomination after his last year's win for crazy Heart. Jeff was nominated this year again for True Grit.

Kirk wonders why Hugh laughs so much!
Kirk Douglas asked Hugh Jackman why he laughed so much when he was speaking. "Hugh Jackman is laughing. Everyone in Australia thinks I am funny. I don't know why. Colin Firth is not laughing! He is British" said Kirk.

Colin Firth's sarcastic speech
Brits are known for their sarcasm and when Colin said, "I have a feeling my career has just peaked" after winning the Oscar, it was hilarious.

Best Oscar speech!
73 years old, King's Speech screenplay writer David Seidler gave the best speech of the Oscars. He said, "I am probably the oldest one to win Oscar in this category so I want someone to break my record fast! I say this on behalf of all the stutterers in the world — we have a voice, we have been heard. I'd like to thank her majesty the Queen for not putting me in the Tower of London for using the Melissa Leo f-word" he added.

Reese Witherspoon's ouch moment!
Resse Witherspoon showed up in black and white Valentino but since her outfit was just like Julia Roberts' which the latter had worn at the Oscars few years back, instead of wows, Reese got 'Oh' moments!

Anne screaming at Lesbians!
Anne Hathaway was clearly referring to Black Swan when she screamed 'Lesbians Lesbians' just after the show begun but it was extremely lame!

Anne Hathaway, James Franco fail to make the mark

Anne Hathaway in a suit and James Franco in drag?

To think that these two actors almost turned down the chance to host the Oscars (apparently, the duo had rejected the offer but their 'chemistry' brought them together).

Well, their chemistry certainly kept the audience entertained at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards, held at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles.

Here's a look at the highlights.

It was a role reversal of sorts as Hathaway wore the pants while Franco was dressed in drag as Marilyn Monroe before welcoming Russell Brand and Helen Mirren on stage, who presented the Best Foreign Language Film prize to In a Better World (Denmark).

'You got to wear a tuxedo,' he joked to Hathaway. 'So I wore this. Weird part is I just got a text message from Charlie Sheen.'

It's not the first time that Franco appeared in drag. He had posed in drag for the cover of Candy magazine last year.

We also got a glimpse of Hathaway's vocal abilities when she performed a musical number alone.

Dressed in a tuxedo, Hathaway belted out a tune to the melody of On My Own from Les Miserables, a jab at Hugh Jackman who she apparently blamed for bailing out on her (Hathway had joined Hugh on stage for the opening number when he hosted the awards in 2008).

'There's a tradition of singing at the Oscars,' she informed the crowd. 'One that I was lucky enough to take part in two years ago. And this year I wanted to do a duet again with a special guest, but he bailed on me at the last minute and I couldn't do it. But I'm not a quitter, so this is the best I could do under the circumstances.'
